The Duo-Lock snap is as small as they come while also being quite strong. I wanted something really small so that it won't deter the fish. I also liked it because of how easily it snaps and goes into small eyelets of different cranks. Several of the ones I tried last year were also small and strong but I found that I would have to open them up a little wider in order to put a lure on, and once that happened they were never the same. I think these ones will work well.
I don’t always use swivels but I do when casting spinnerbaits or trolling spoons. When that time comes I am going to make a little flouro leader using 20lb test line with a swivel on one end and a snap on the other. When trolling for walleye I tend to tie directly to my line, 10lb PowerPro, but at least now I will have the snap there for ease of changing lures.
I plan on testing it out and seeing how it goes and will make any changes as I proceed. I am also planning on buying some Bass pro Shop ones as well as theirs apparently come in black while the ones I have are a brushed nickel colour.
